Support in Times of Crisis
The Ol Jogi is a wildlife conservancy in Kenya that works to enhance biodiversity and support endangered species. The conservancy has an excellent veterinary clinic that needs additional and more modern equipment. Holtzman Wildlife Foundation's grant supported the purchase of an ultrasound machine, and also provided operating support for the organization during the coronavirus pandemic. Much of Ol Jogi’s revenue comes from tourism, which disappeared during the pandemic. The Foundation’s operating support allowed the organization to continue ranger patrols that protect the rhinos and reduce poaching.
